Company Policies for COVID-19
- Proper Handwashing both off and on jobsite – Employees should wash their hands for at least 20 seconds using soap to cover as much surface area of their hands as possible. If soap is not available, hand-sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol is to be used.
- Avoid Handshaking or other skin-to-skin contact – Handshaking and other skin-to-skin contact such as hugs, high-fives, etc. are not allowed on the jobsite at this time.
- Coughs and Sneezes should be covered – Even while wearing face covering, employees should still cough and sneeze into their elbow.
- Meetings conducted with masks and gloves following social distancing guidelines – Meetings will require 6 ft distance between while wearing mandatory face coverings and gloves while on the jobsite.
- Job entry must be approved by Project Supervisor – No unauthorized personnel will be allowed onto the jobsite in order to limit possibility of outside exposure.
- Routine cleaning of all frequently touched surfaces – Clean and disinfect frequently touched areas such as door handles, handrails, bathroom toilets/sinks, Company and Personal Vehicles, and any other areas that may be touched often by multiple persons.
- Provisions for handwashing are available on jobsites – Hand-Sanitizer, wipes, and soap will be provided to jobsites in order to ensure employees are able to frequently wash their hands as often as needed.
- No communal food at jobsites – Communal food such as pizzas, whole chickens, family orders (that multiple people will eat), or any other foods which will be handled by multiple people are no longer allowed on the jobsite in order to minimize the chance of cross-contamination.
- Face covering and gloves must be worn at all times on jobsite – Face coverings and gloves will be provided to the jobsite and must be worn at all times.
- 6 ft Minimum Social Distancing to be practiced whenever possible at jobsite – Employees must keep at least 6 ft minimum between each other when possible on jobsite including tailgate meetings. We understand work will not always allow this distance which is why employees must also wear proper face coverings and gloves as well as disinfect commonly touched areas.
- North® Respirators will be used on any NGS New Generation Scaffold Inc jobsite – Full shave, no goatee, Fu Manchu, or any facial hair below the bottom lip for is required for proper fitting and respirator effectiveness when using any North® half-face, full-face or any cartridge fitting respirator.
- Hygiene and Clothing Policy – Employees of NGS New Generation Scaffold Inc must adhere to a professional construction dress code. No overly-baggy clothes, no earrings or other dangling jewelry, only long pants are allowed to be worn/no shorts, sleeveless shirts not allowed, long-sleeve shirts should fit snugly and cannot be overly long, hardhats are required and should be regularly inspected, safety glasses should be worn at all times, steel-toe boots with non-slip puncture-resistant soles are required, brightly colored reflective vests must be worn while on jobsite, long-hair must be tied back tightly, earplugs for working near loud machinery, and face covering and gloves.
- Do not share or trade tools and other personal equipment – No sharing of tools or other personal equipment such as masks, harnesses, helmets, etc. will be allowed in order to reduce risk.
- In the event of a shutdown all employees will be notified – If there is a shutdown of a project due to COVID-19 employees will be alerted as soon as possible.
- Employees must stay home if they are sick – Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. These symptoms appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
- Notify physician or call the 24/7 hotline at 2-1-1 if you are experiencing symptoms – Do not come to work if you are experiencing symptoms. Please notify NGS New Generation Scaffold Inc you are experiencing symptoms and do not come to work then call your physician or call the 24/7 hotline at (833) 544-2374 or 211. The statewide call center will be open 7 days a week from 8:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Daylight Time.
- Employees must contact NGS New Generation Scaffold Inc to receive clearance before reentering jobsite after testing positive for COVID 19 – Taking 2 tests 24 hours apart, lacking symptoms 7 days after testing positive, or a full 72 hours with no symptoms after taking no medicine are indicators that one can de-isolate/quarantine themselves, but you must still contact NGS New Generation Scaffold Inc before you can return to work at the jobsite.
- All company policies and practices are being reviewed and revised daily by NGS New Generation Scaffold Inc – New Generation Scaffold Inc is having daily meetings in order to ensure our policies are up-to-date and our employees have all the information they need to stay safe both in and out of the jobsite.
